VPRS 18820 Finance Committee Minutes

This series comprises the minutes of the Finance Committee of the Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital (VA 1254). From 1915, the Finance Committee met monthly and by the 1970s bi-monthly. The earliest minutes cover subjects including: the honorary treasurer's report, approval of accounts for payment, and subscriptions. The later minutes are concerned with matters such as capital funds, bequests and donations, insurance premiums, and other financial matters of the hospital.  The earliest extant minutes are from 1915; however the minutes of the General Committee record that the Finance Committee was appointed at the meeting held on 18 October 1897. There is a gap in the extant minutes between 1923 and 1928. After a report and recommendation from the Sub-Committee on Governance (VPRS 18823), in 1974 the Finance Committee was abolished and its functions were absorbed by the Executive Committee. However, in 1978 it was re-constituted, and its new Terms of Reference were recorded in the minutes of the Meeting held on 21 July 1978.
