Hotels; business nights, star class

This table contains figures on the number of business nights in the Netherlands in all hotels, motels, guesthouses, apartments with hotel services, youth accommodation and bed & breakfasts with at least 5 berths.
The data are available by the number of stars of the accommodation. The data are also available for the Netherlands as a whole, and for the municipality of Amsterdam.

The business overnight stays are an estimate. CBS asks the accommodations how much percent of all overnight stays are estimated to have been done by business travellers. Therefore, the figures in this table are rounded to dozens.

The breakdown by number of stars of the accommodation is based on the statement by the accommodation itself. It is not necessary that the property has registered this number of stars with an official body. It’s all about how the accommodation sees itself. The subheading includes not only hotels, but also other types of accommodation mentioned above. In addition to 5-star hotels, the category ‘5 stars’ also includes 5-star bed & breakfasts.

Trend break
The data on guests and overnight stays per star class up to 2015 that CBS published previously were based on the official registration of the number of stars by the Horeca and Catering Company. With the removal of the Company, this registration also expired. Therefore, in its survey ‘Inventory accommodation accommodation’, CBS started asking the accommodations how many stars they have, or how much stars their accommodation is comparable to. The figures in this table and in the table with figures up to 2015 are therefore not directly comparable.

Status of the figures:
The figures for 2023 are provisional. The remaining years are final.

Amendments as of 14 November 2023:
Despite the due diligence with which the figures and previous publications for accommodation accommodation have been compiled, it has unfortunately been found that the published figures for the reporting periods after March 2022 are incorrect due to a technical error. CBS investigates the impact of this technical error on the results of this statistics and of other statistics that use this statistics.

On the basis of this study, CBS will publish improved data on accommodation accommodation on 11 December. This covers the months of April 2022 to October 2023 and the corresponding quarters. This means that the publication already planned for 14 November (on September report) will be postponed for several weeks.

Amendments as of 24 March 2022:
On 24 March 2022, the municipality of Weesp merged with the municipality of Amsterdam. This municipal reclassification was implemented in this table as of 1 January 2022.
CBS has been enabling companies to provide data in a different way since January 2021, for example through collaborations with municipalities or other organisations with which agreements have been made. This often involves the processing of figures that are also collected for a municipal night register. The quality of the data is also carefully checked, but it is not entirely excluded that minor trend breaks may occur in some regional breakdowns due to the use of these new sources.

When will there be new figures?
The figures for a new reporting month shall be available within 3 months of the end of that month and shall be given the status ‘provisional’.
The figures for the whole year are revised one month after the release of the month of December and will then be given the status ‘further provisional’.
Two months later, the figures are given the status “definitive”.

本表收录荷兰境内所有符合以下条件的住宿场所的商务过夜夜数统计数据：酒店、汽车旅馆、民宿、提供酒店服务的公寓、青年住宿场所，以及床位不少于5个的住宿加早餐旅馆（bed & breakfast）。
数据可按住宿场所的星级等级进行分类统计，同时可按荷兰全国及阿姆斯特丹直辖市两个维度提供。
本次统计的商务过夜夜数为估算值：荷兰中央统计局（Central Bureau of Statistics, CBS）向各住宿场所调研其总过夜夜数中商务旅客占比的估算比例，因此本表所有数据均按十位数进行取整。
住宿场所的星级分类依据各场所自行申报的等级，并非要求该场所已在官方机构完成星级登记，仅以场所自身的自评等级为准。本表的子分类不仅包含酒店，还涵盖前文提及的其他各类住宿场所。除五星级酒店外，“五星级”分类亦包含五星级住宿加早餐旅馆。
趋势断点说明
此前荷兰中央统计局发布的2015年及之前分星级旅客及过夜夜数数据，均依据酒店餐饮与餐饮服务公司（Horeca and Catering Company）的官方星级登记信息统计。随着该公司注销，此项星级登记也随之失效。因此，荷兰中央统计局在其题为“住宿场所普查”（Inventory accommodation accommodation）的调研中，改为向各住宿场所询问其实际星级或可类比的星级等级。因此，本表数据与2015年及之前的历史数据不具备直接可比性。

2023年数据为暂定数据，其余年份数据均为最终核定数据。

2023年11月14日修订说明：
尽管在本次住宿场所数据及过往发布内容的编制过程中已尽到审慎核查义务，但仍发现2022年3月之后的报告期发布数据因技术错误存在偏差。目前荷兰中央统计局正评估该技术错误对本次统计及其他引用本统计结果的统计项目的影响。基于此项评估，荷兰中央统计局将于12月11日发布修正后的住宿场所数据，覆盖时段为2022年4月至2023年10月及对应季度。原计划于11月14日发布的9月报告数据将推迟数周发布。

2022年3月24日修订说明：
2022年3月24日，维斯普（Weesp）直辖市并入阿姆斯特丹直辖市。本次表格自2022年1月1日起已执行此项行政区划变更。自2021年1月起，荷兰中央统计局已允许企业通过与地方政府或其他已签署合作协议的机构合作的新方式提交数据，此类数据通常来源于为市级过夜登记系统采集的统计数值。尽管已对数据质量进行严格核查，但仍无法完全排除因采用新数据来源，导致部分区域分类统计出现小幅趋势断裂的可能性。

新增数据发布规则：
单月报告数据将于该月度结束后3个月内发布，状态标注为“暂定”；年度汇总数据将于12月月度数据发布后1个月进行修订，修订后状态标注为“进一步暂定”；再过2个月后，年度数据将更新为“最终核定”状态。
