Data from Archaeological Recording at Fleet Marston Cottages and Putlowes, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, 2021 (HS2 Phase One)

This collection comprises images, site records, spreadsheets, databases, and GIS and photogrammetry data from an archaeological recording at Fleet Marston Cottages and Putlowes, Aylesbury Buckinghamshire. This work was undertaken by COPA between January and October 2021 as part of the High Speed 2 (HS2) infrastructure project. The archaeological recording works covered eight excavation areas targeting the Iron Age and Roman remains revealed at the site during a preceding trial trench evaluation. The archaeological recording was required to further identify the location, extent, survival and significance of the remains of an Iron Age settlement site, the Roman road of Akeman Street and associated roadside plots and enclosures, a minor Roman road and its associated enclosures, and a late Roman cemetery.
