A cabinet card studio portrait of a carpenter, Stanton and Burdick, 119 and 129 North Main Street, Los Angeles, California, USA, circa 1888. The mage shows a mustachioed man wearing work trousers, a white apron or work covering, and a hat tilted far back on his head, standing next to a fence prop in the studio. In his left hand he holds a saw with the blade end touching the floor. In this right hand and hooked over his left shoulder he holds a framing square. The style of the cartouche for the photographers indicates the assumed date. With major fading and staining to the image and gouges, rubbing and abrasions to the matte's backing from pasting into an album, the condition is fair.
