This dataset is part of the project “Bird diversity across space and time along an Andean elevational gradient: insights from multispecies occupancy models.” The data were collected along the Serranía de Las Quinchas, a mountainous formation adjacent to the Eastern Andes of Colombia, representing a biogeographically important area due to its strong affinities with the Chocó biogeographic region. The dataset includes the bird species presence–absence matrix recorded through standardized point count surveys, which served as the primary sampling unit for multispecies occupancy analyses. It also contains the associated environmental variables used to develop occupancy models and to evaluate spatial and temporal patterns of avian diversity. These data can be used for comparative analyses of alpha, beta, and gamma diversity along elevational gradients, as well as for modeling species occupancy, distribution, and community responses to environmental gradients in Andean ecosystems.
