The purpose of monitoring and research on based on these data, the identification of the characteristics of non-formal learning in small groups, which take place throughout Slovenia throughout the year, and are financed by the MŠŠ under certain conditions (competence of the mentor, adherence to the principles of the ŠK).Research is carried out within the framework of regular tasks of the Andragoški center of Slovenia. Research results serve the funder for the development of adult learning (e.g. responding to needs), for research examining specific questions (e.g. the responsiveness of certain segments of society; the peculiarities of community learning) to observe the time dynamics of development (e.g. financial investment of municipalities in adult education) and for comparisons with the rest of the world, especially the Scandinavian countries.
