Stochastic phenotypic switching arises in response to directional selection in experimentally evolved multicellular yeast

Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y55 strain RNA-Seq: -Y55 and ace2 missense construct profiles at 8-hours and 24-hours growth in YPD. -ace2 missense separated by subdistributions after gravitational selection. Top and Bottom subdristributions indicate the two separated phenotypic classes: non-settling small (TOP) and settling large (Bottom). Grown for 24-hours in YPD. C1W8.1 and C1W8.2 derived strains from Y55 wild-type isolated from population 1 at week 8 from the Ratcliff et al., 2012 experiment.
