Soils worthy of protection in Lower Saxony 1: 50000 – Rare soils (WFS service)

Soils that are particularly worthy of protection include soils whose natural functions and their archiving function are essentially preserved. Impairments of these functions should be avoided under soil protection law (cf. §1 BBodSchG). Rare soils have only a small area distribution in relation to a spatially defined totality or represent special features. Soils that have rare characteristics or characteristics due to unusual combinations of site conditions (original rock, climate, relief) are considered rare. The methods for determining the protection of soils in Lower Saxony are detailed in Bug et al. (2019) described.
