The data set shows the relative amount of hard-bottom coral forest. The amount is calculated as the number of observations per video station. The data represent point observations and are suitable for comparing results from spatial predictive models for different vulnerable habitats and as a background for the management of vulnerable areas. In lively places with hard bottoms, horn corals can form habitats for fish, snake stars and small crustaceans. The most common species of horn corals that form hard-bottom coral forests are Paragorgia arborea, Primnoa resedaeformis, Paramuricea placomus and Swiftia spp. Although the diversity of species associated with the various horn corals that form this biotope is smaller than that of coral reefs, the fauna can be considered both individual-rich and rich in host-specific species that do not occur in other habitats.
