Abstract This paper deals with the characterization of the disposable liquid effluent (supernatant from sludge ponds and water from filter washing) at the ETA/Gramame (water treatment plant) in João Pessoa, Paraíba State, aiming at its reuse in the treatment process. The results obtained showed that the physicochemical characteristics of effluent had behavior similar to original natural water from the Gramame River impounded at the ETA/Gramame, with the exception of aluminium, which had high concentration in the effluent. Thus, the reuse of water volumes employed for washing filters and cleaning decanters in an ETA (water treatment plant) must be under more effective control when aluminium sulphate is added to the water treatment process.

摘要 本研究针对帕拉伊巴州若昂佩索阿市ETA/Gramame(水处理厂,water treatment plant)产生的排弃液体废液——即污泥池上清液与滤池冲洗水——开展特性表征,旨在将其回用于该厂的水处理流程。研究结果显示,该废液的理化特性与ETA/Gramame拦蓄的格拉马梅河原水高度相似,仅铝浓度显著偏高。据此,当水处理工艺中投加硫酸铝时,需对用于滤池冲洗及滗析器清洁的回用水体量实施更为有效的管控。
