Subcarpathian Ruthenia Settlement-Level Census, Election and Administrative Crosswalk (1910-1930)

This dataset contains the results of the 1929 Czechoslovak Parliamentary Election, 1930 Census (nationality and religion) for 487 settlements in the interwar province of Subcarpathian Ruthenia. Also included are GIS polygons for each settlement derived from 1910 Hungarian settlement geodata along with a crosswalk that links election and census data from 1929/1930 to over 100 occupational, industrial, agricultural and other population variables in 1910. The purpose of the dataset is to study institution-building and democratization in ethnically mixed peripheral territories.
