Gene database of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) virus

This work presents the gene database of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) virus. Using annotated genome sequence downloaded from Genbank, an in-house MATLAB genome analysis software parsed the contents into a gene database comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence. Overall, the presented gene database of MERS is fundamental to initiating studies in understanding the origins and pathogenic potential of this virus.
