The application of diazotroph could decrease the overuse of nitrogen (N) fertilizer. Until now, there are few systematic studies on the effects of diazotroph application on microbial communities in the different niches of host plant. Physicochemical properties and microbial communities in different niches are generally considered as important parameters of soil and plant health because of their association with plant growth and development. Thus, we aimed to study the effects of diazotroph on microbial communities and physicochemical properties of soil and plant. Pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of diazotrophic Paenibacillus beijingensis BJ-18 on soil and plant physicochemical properties and microbial communities. Maize seedlings were planted in the presence or absence P. beijingensis BJ-18 under three N levels.
