This study investigated aeolian sediment transport and spatial distribution of sediment in the surface soil for seven years following a prescribed fire using a multiple rare earth element tracer-based approach in a shrub-encroached desert grassland in the northern Chihuahuan desert. The data sets include data on: rare earth element tracer (REE tracers: holmium (Ho), Ytterbium (Yb), and Europium (Eu) on shrub, bare, and grass microsites, respectively) concentrations in sediment from aeolian sediment collectors and from soil, aeolian erosion rates (horizontal mass flux) and meteorological parameters.
本研究以奇瓦瓦沙漠北部一处受灌丛入侵的荒漠草原为研究区域,采用多稀土元素示踪法,针对计划火烧后七年时段内的风沙沉积物输运过程及表层土壤沉积物的空间分布特征展开调查。本数据集涵盖以下几类数据:分别应用于灌丛、裸地及草本微生境的稀土元素示踪剂(rare earth element tracers,REE tracers:钬Ho、镱Yb、铕Eu)在风沙沉积物收集器采集的沉积物及土壤沉积物中的浓度数据、风沙侵蚀速率(水平质量通量)以及气象参数。
