资源简介:
This study aimed the evaluation of emerging approaches and procedures for the isolation, identification and biochemical and genetic characterization of bacteriocinogenic bacteria and their bacteriocins, sourced from the GIT of meat-producing pigs. Both, Gram-negative and Gram-positive isolates held bacteriocin gene clusters (BCGs) for production of previously described bacteriocins, but also for the synthesis of homologous and novel bacteriocins. Some of the characterized bacteriocins are promising for evaluation of their potential as food preservatives and/or therapeutic agents in human and veterinary applications, and the isolated and identified bacteriocinogenic strains for their evaluation as useful probiotics in animal production.
