Atmospheric CH4 column concentration (XCH4) is defined as the volume ratio of the molecular mass of CH4 per unit area in the entire atmospheric column perpendicular to the Earth's surface to that of dry air, with the unit of parts per billion (ppb). This dataset is a global spatially and temporally continuous grid XCH4 product generated by processing the XCH4 retrievals from GOSAT and SCIAMACHY satellite observations via the spatio-temporal Kriging interpolation method. It features a spatial-temporal resolution of 0.5° grid and monthly temporal resolution, is stored in TIFF (tif) format, with each band representing one month, and can be applied to the analysis of variation characteristics of global or regional atmospheric CH4 concentrations.
