Non-animal methods for toxicity studies and chemicals regulation

The research focused on efforts to shift towards non-animal methods in the toxicity tests carried out for chemicals regulation and policy. This qualitative research, through interviews and focus groups with stakeholders such as academics, regulators, and those working in industry, took place over two research projects. The first focused on the use of a dedicated wiki to enable the gathering and synthesis of information on adverse outcome pathways. The second specifically focused on the challenges faced by risk managers and assessors, in regulation and in industry. The items uploaded here are the interview and focus group topic lists, and the themes that emerged from thematic analysis.
