MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF A SINGLE HEARTH AT 48SUl171, SOUTHWESTERN WYOMING

A portion of the fill of a single isolated hearth (Feature 2) was
floated and examined for charred macrofloral remains. This hearth is located
in Locus 2, which consists of remains of a prehistoric camp associated
with a series of low dunes. Cultural material included flakes, a scraper,
and six features, five of which were located on the surface. The purpose of
this analysis was to identify any plants processed in the hearth, as well as
the type of fuel used.

对单个孤立灶坑（Feature 2）的部分填充堆积进行浮选，并针对炭化大植物遗存开展检验分析。该灶坑隶属于2号遗迹单位（Locus 2），该遗迹单位包含一处与连片低矮沙丘伴生的史前营地遗存。本次出土的文化遗物包括石片、1件刮削器以及6处遗迹特征，其中5处遗迹特征暴露于地表。本次分析旨在识别该灶坑内曾加工处理的植物种类，以及该灶坑所使用的燃料类型。
