The survey of consumer expenditure provides a detailed picture of Norwegian households yearly consumption of different goods and services. Further it provides insight in the variety of consumption between different types of households, and how the consumption pattern changes over time. Detailed overviews of private households consumption have formed an important foundation for research about income, living conditions and e.g. effects of the tax systems use of direct and indirect taxes. The data can also be utilised for studies of compelementary demand, in economic planning models, or for specification of private consumption in national accounts. The households are classified according to features like household type, income level, occupational status and age, region, sex, total consumption in NOK and more. The number of households in the net sample for 2022 was 3507.
The data material is divided into to separate files: an individual level file and a household level file.
