2014 Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) Noss Head benthic camera survey

The main aim of this investigation within and around the Noss Head MPA, Caithness was to improve knowledge of the occurrence and distribution of the species and habitats of recognized conservation importance. A drop-down video survey of benthic habitats within the MPA was undertaken by MSS at 13 sites on the 21st August 2014 on board the MSS vessel MRV Alba na Mara. Analysis of seabed video and still photographic imagery is used to describe the nature of the seabed in terms of the physical structure and the species assemblages. Runs and run segments were assessed for the presence of protected features and other PMFs, as well as for the presence of species and habitats of recognised conservation importance.本研究针对凯斯内斯（Caithness）的诺斯角海洋保护区（Noss Head MPA, Marine Protected Area）及其周边海域开展，核心目标是深化对具有公认保护价值的物种与栖息地的出现情况及分布规律的认知。2014年8月21日，MSS团队搭乘其所属科考船MRV Alba na Mara，在该海洋保护区内的13个站位实施了底栖生境下放式视频调查。研究通过分析海底视频与静态摄影影像，从物理结构与物种群落两个维度刻画海底环境的特征。研究人员将对各航次及航次分段进行评估，核查是否存在保护特征及其他PMFs，同时确认是否存在具有公认保护价值的物种与栖息地。
