Abstract Objective To evaluate the factors associated with functional health literacy in the elderly undergoing pre-dialysis treatment. Method This is a cross-sectional study, carried out with 60 elderly people diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and assisted in the conservative treatment outpatient clinic of a public hospital in the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. Data were collected using the instrument of Test of Health Literacy in Adults, an abbreviated version and a structured questionnaire, which were subsequently analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result Functional health literacy was insufficient 43(71.7%) and was associated with lower education (p-value=0.000) and non-white race (p-value=0.040). Conclusion The educational level and race are factors that interfere in functional health literacy, serving as subsidies for the elaboration of educational actions adjusted to the reality of this public.

【摘要】目的:评估接受透析前治疗的老年人群功能性健康素养的相关影响因素。方法:本研究为横断面研究,纳入巴西伯南布哥州累西腓市某公立医院保守治疗门诊接诊的60名慢性肾脏病老年患者作为研究对象。采用成人健康素养测试简版量表及结构化问卷收集研究数据,随后通过描述性统计与推断性统计方法开展数据分析。结果:共43例(71.7%)受试者存在功能性健康素养不足情况,且该情况与较低受教育程度(p值=0.000)及非白人种族(p值=0.040)显著相关。结论:受教育水平与种族是影响功能性健康素养的相关因素,可为制定适配该人群实际情况的健康教育干预措施提供依据。
