The dimensions of differentiation of perceived personality profiles of Polish politicians: an analysis of aggregated data

The aim of the undertaken research was to establish the basic dimensions differentiating perceived personality profiles of politicians. 390 people, aged between 18 and 75, were asked to describe 24 Polish politicians, randomly combined in 6 sets, 4 politicians in each set, with a list of 148 adjectives. The principal components analysis of 24 personality profiles led to the extraction of four common dimensions differentiating images of Polish politicians: Competence (Intellect, Goal-directing, Realism), (non-)Agreeableness (Rowdiness, Unwillingness to compromise, Machiavellism), Extraversion (Openness to others, Energy), Integrity (Honesty, Patriotism).
