96-channel prototype of the massively parallel Maia detector was tested last year at the NSLS and used to prove the concepts of high throughput fluorescence imaging and full spectral XANES imaging. The aim of this experiment is to use the new 384-channel Maia\r\ndetector to collect full-spectral high-spatial resolution images at a minimum of 50 energy points to generate XANES images of geological materials with applications to mineral processing, mineral exploration, and environmental geochemistry. By enabling for the first time\r\nlarge-scale (thousands to millions of pixels) XANES imaging, this new technique will revolutionize the study of Earth materials.\nLineage: Data was produced using the Maia 96 element detector array prototype on the XFM X-ray microprobe beamline of the Australian Synchrotron and processed using the GeoPIXE software package.\n\n
