Clinical Trial Data Extraction and Risk of Bias Assessment Dataset for a Systematic Review of the Health Effects of Aristotelia chilensis (Maqui Berry) Supplementation in Adults: Glycaemic Regulation, Oxidative Stress, Cardiometabolic Parameters, and Ocular Surface Outcomes
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the full reproducibility of a systematic review examining the clinical evidence on the effects of standardised Aristotelia chilensis (maqui berry) extracts and derivative formulations on glycaemic regulation, oxidative stress biomarkers, cardiometabolic risk factors, and ocular surface parameters in adult populations. The review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 statement. The dataset includes the following components: (1) the complete structured data extraction table for all 13 included clinical trials, encompassing study design, country of origin, intervention formulation and dosage, target population and eligibility criteria, comparator type, intervention duration, sample size, participant characteristics, outcome categories, primary measurement instruments, assessment time-points, and principal findings; (2) the classification of included studies by physiological system and clinical specialty; (3) domain-level and overall risk of bias judgements for ten randomised controlled trials assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool version 2 (RoB 2) and for three non-randomised studies assessed using ROBINS-I, with full written justifications for each domain judgement; and (4) the certainty of evidence overview constructed using the GRADE approach across all evaluated outcome domains. Included studies were published between 2014 and 2023 and conducted across six countries, employing a range of maqui-based formulations including standardised proprietary extracts, freeze-dried powders, nutraceutical capsules, and polyphenol-rich beverages. The dataset is formatted to facilitate independent verification, secondary analysis, and future updates to the evidence base.
