Conclusion:
Flow cytometry is a good tool to determine the community composition of mock communities. However, in current format, it is not suitable for the determination of co-cultures because of changing phenotypes while co-culturing bacteria. Daily QC of flow cytometer - Biological triplicates - Axenic control samples - Medium blancs - Dilutant blancs - Singlet analysis - Stability fluorescent signal over time
