The genomic data of Halorubrum halophilum B8 beloning to the family Halobacteriaceae of the phylum Euryarchaeota, were obtained using the MiSeq platform. The draft genome of Halorubrum halophilum B8 contains 3,678,241 bp. Detailed genomic analyses and comparative studies with other Halorubrum genomes will give further information and insight into the metabolism of Halorubrum species.
