Soft rot disease is a major problem in cruciferous vegetables. It causes significant yield losses both pre and post-harvest in Trinidad and Tobago. The current study aims to identify the disease-causing agent(s), and establish its distribution throughout the island. The current study will also explore the whole genome to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the pathogen to create a suitable management strategy.
