行政区划是国家生产组织、社会管理及其社会经济统计的基本单元。伴随着国家政治管理、经济生活和社会的不断发展，各级行政区划也在发生着很大变化，变化的形式包括行政区划的建制变更、更名、驻地迁移、界线变更等。新疆维吾尔自治区1：400万县级行政区划数据集（1997年）包括新疆维吾尔自治区1997年县级行政区划数据和县级行政驻地点数据。县级行政区划数据包括了县级行政单元的名称、拼音、行政区划代码、变迁情况等信息；驻地点数据包括县级行政单元驻地的位置信息，驻地的级别、变迁情况等信息。数据格式为ARCGISshapefile格式。该数据集可为区域科学研究提供基础矢量行政区划数据。特别说明：该数据仅供科学研究参考使用，不作为各级政区争议的依据。

Administrative divisions are the basic units for national production organization, social management, and socio-economic statistics. With the continuous advancement of national political governance, economic development and social progress, administrative divisions at all levels have undergone considerable changes, including changes in institutional setup, renaming, relocation of administrative seats, boundary adjustments, and other forms. The 1:4,000,000 County-level Administrative Divisions Dataset of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (1997) includes two types of data: county-level administrative division data and county-level administrative seat location data of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 1997. The county-level administrative division data contains information such as the name, pinyin, administrative division code, and historical changes of county-level administrative units; the seat location data includes the geographic location of the administrative seats of county-level units, as well as the level and historical changes of the seats. The data is stored in the ARCGIS Shapefile format. This dataset can provide basic vector administrative division data for regional scientific research. Special Note: This data is for scientific research reference only and shall not be used as a basis for disputes over administrative divisions at all levels.
