This dataset comprises key social and economic statistical indicators of Heshun County, Shanxi Province, a demonstrative province for the Loess Plateau region, in 1996, which is extracted from the social and economic data of Shanxi Province. It covers statistical data from 1978 to 1996, including population status, living standards of residents, basic conditions of township and village enterprises (TVEs), gross industrial output value, output of major industrial products, output of major agricultural products, foreign economic trade and international tourism, gross output value and indices of farming, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, general price indices of all categories, local fiscal revenue and expenditure, research and development (R&D) institutions at or above the county level, their staffing and funding status, investment in technological transformation, fixed asset investment, capital construction investment, arable land area and grain output, and other relevant indicators.
