The use of Pichia pastoris heterologous expression system is restricted due to limitations on the use of methanol. By deleting transcription repressors and overexpressing transcription activator of the aldehyde oxidase 1 (AOX1) promoter, a methanol-independent strain ?mig1?mig2?nrg1-Mit1 has been previously constructed. This study aimed to investigate the transcriptome and metabolome profile of the strain in response to different carbon sources.
