The school health services have been running a preventive health project with focus on information about correct breathing techniques, balanced posture and stretching tense muscles. In this context there was carried out a questionnaire survey and clinical observations of pupils in the 8th grade at a school in Bergen. One has aimed at mapping out whether the health information program had any effect. Three of the classes constituted the pilot group and the control group consisted of two other classes. The 134 pupils were asked about back pains, knowledge about back pains, tense muscles, sources of information etc.
