The data file contains conflict severity scores derived from local perceptions of human-wildlife conflict in north-western Bhutan in 2023. The data reflects how sampled households experienced and interpreted the prevalence and impact of livestock predation by carnivores. To measure this, we asked four questions to the local people: i) prevalence/frequency of predation, ii) status of predation, iii) impact on income, and iv) number of livestock lost. Then we assigned numerical values to each answer on an ordinal scale, with higher values indicating greater contribution to the severity of the conflict. The distribution of conflict severity scores was determined by adding up the scores of each household location, with higher values indicating a higher level of conflict experienced at each household level.
