This experimental validation procedures follows the worst-case RTHS configuration, similarly as the single floor MRF test. The mass is primarily assumed computationally, but the stiffness is largely tested physically. A series of validation tests are configured by varying the computational mass on both floors. The input El-Centro earthquake intensity is scaled accordingly for each configuration (see table below), to accommodate the actuator force limit and stroke length constraints. The reference structure assumes Rayleigh damping of 2% for the first two modes in each configuration.
