Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was used for determination of elemental distribution in the plants parts. Municipal drinking water and wastewater after treatment with plasma was used for irrigation of Lactuca Sativa for 4 weeks in order to determine the plasma treatment condition that have beneficial effect on the plants. The plants were grown in hydroponic system. After evaluating the biometric and biochemical parameters of the plants, samples of small plants (one weeks old) and parts of older plants (2 months) were dried and prepared for the LIBS measurements. LIBS elemental bioimaging of 18 plants samples was performed. The variations in the content of micro elements and macro elements in plants treated with wastewater, plasma activated wastewater and plasma activated water were determined. Since LIBS is capable of fast elemental bioimaging and determines the exact distribution of wide range of elements in the plant tissue the results allow studying the effect the wastewater irrigation on nutrient composition of the plants.
