The association between stressors and telomeres in non-human vertebrates: a meta-analysis

To improve our understanding of stress-induced telomere dynamics in non-human vertebrates, we analysed 109 relevant studies in a meta-analytical framework. From those 109 studies, 28 were also used to test whether the stressor-telomeres association is mediated by oxidative stress. The data files contain the list of studies included in the meta-analysis ("DOI"), the Z-score ("Effect size") of all the relationships between stressor exposure and telomeres, and stressor exposure and oxidative stress extracted from the papers, and the 12 moderators included in the analyses (e.g. "Stressor category", "Telomere measure", etc). <br> The R script and additional data files can be found at: https://github.com/szymekdr/telomeres_stress_meta
