CERN-LHC. Measurement of the transverse momentum spectra of jets in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 2.76TeV. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles using the anti-kT jet algorithm with jet resolution parameters R of 0.2 and 0.3 in pseudo-rapidity |eta| < 0.5. The transverse momentum pT of charged particles is measured down to 0.15 GeV which gives access to the low pT fragments of the jet. A strong suppression of jet production in central events with respect to peripheral events is observed.

本数据集来自欧洲核子研究中心(CERN)大型强子对撞机(LHC):针对质心系碰撞能量√s_NN=2.76太电子伏特(TeV)的铅-铅(Pb-Pb)核碰撞,开展喷注(jet)横动量谱的测量研究。研究采用反kT喷注算法(anti-kT jet algorithm),在赝快度(pseudo-rapidity)|η|<0.5的区间内,选取喷注分辨参数R分别为0.2与0.3,通过带电粒子重建得到喷注样本。带电粒子的横动量(transverse momentum, p_T)测量下限设置为0.15吉电子伏特(GeV),该参数设置使得研究能够覆盖喷注的低横动量碎裂组分。实验最终观测到:中心碰撞事件中的喷注产生量相较于外围碰撞事件存在显著抑制效应。
