Impact of various high fat diets on intestinal gene expression in mouse

High fat diets (HFDs) are linked to several diseases including obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance, fatty liver, and susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in both mouse and humans. RNA-seq from male mice (C57BL/6N) fed Vivarium Chow (VIV) or any one of three high fat diets (40% kcal fat) (SO+CO, PL+CO, CO) for 24 weeks was performed on four segments of the intestinal tract (Duodenum, Jejunum, Terminal Ileum and Proximal Colon). In this study, we analyzed the impact of three high fat diets (HFDs) on gene expression in four functionally distinct segments of the mouse intestinal tract using RNA-seq. The diets are described in Deol et al, 2017 (PMID: 28970503).
高脂饮食(High fat diets, HFDs)与多种疾病密切相关,涵盖肥胖、糖尿病、胰岛素抵抗、脂肪肝,以及小鼠与人类群体中炎症性肠病(inflammatory bowel disease, IBD)的易感性升高。本研究对喂食标准饲养饲料(Vivarium Chow, VIV)或三种高脂饮食(热量占比40%来自脂肪,分别为SO+CO、PL+CO、CO)的雄性C57BL/6N小鼠开展了为期24周的喂养实验,随后对其肠道四个节段——十二指肠(Duodenum)、空肠(Jejunum)、回肠末端(Terminal Ileum)与近端结肠(Proximal Colon)——进行了RNA测序(RNA-seq)。本研究通过该测序技术,分析了三种高脂饮食对小鼠肠道四个功能迥异的节段基因表达的影响。相关饮食方案已在Deol等人2017年的研究中予以说明(PMID: 28970503)。
