NRS-1703 | Correspondence files [Conservation Authority of NSW]

These correspondence and general matters files relate to such issues as the conservation of natural resources, soil conservation, land utilisation, rabbits, forests, dams, water usage, rutile mining, land tenure, legislation, committee reports, and Soil Conservationists' Conference papers. It appears that the series was originally created in the Soil Conservation Service and subsequently adopted by the Department of Conservation, which was established in 1945, and by the Conservation Authority of New South Wales from 1949. There are also a small number of files in the series that were "noted" sometime after the Authority's functions were transferred to other departments at the end of 1974.Item numbers reflect the Authority's file numbering system, with the first two numbers indicating the year in which the file was first formed. There was extensive top-numbering.
