This thesis addresses the modeling and optimization of reactor systems aimed at reducing energy consumption in the chemical industry. The work presents a coupled mathematical formulation of heat and mass transfer, reaction kinetics, and hydrodynamics, and applies parameterization and identification approaches. As a scientific novelty, an optimization scheme is proposed that simultaneously accounts for energy performance indicators together with selectivity and safety constraints.
