Abstract: This dataset contains major and trace element geochemistry from IODP 343-C0019E (J-FAST) and DSDP 56-436. IODP 343-C0019E drilled through the toe of the accretionary prism in the Japan trench and contains tectonically disrupted sediments that are difficult to date. DSDP 56-436 is located nearby on the incoming plate and contains a reference section for the tectonically disrupted sediments in hole C0019E. Correlation of the samples based upon major and trace element chemistry allowed dating of the sediments in hole C0019E and recognition of additional faults.
