Characterization and Phylogenetic Analysis of the Complete Mitochondrial Genome of Barbatula microphthalma. Triplophysa microphthalma

Barbatula microphthalma is a small fish unique to China inhabiting the cold water streams and ditches over gravelly bottom. Its taxonomic classification has been contentious, with its placement within either the Triplophysa or Barbatula genus influencing our understanding of its biological characteristics. In this study, we reported the complete mitogenome of B. microphthalma and conducted a detailed analysis of its characteristics which was employed to infer phylogenetic relationships. Collectively, our research clarified its genus-level phylogenetic relationships.
