Box office revenue share of animated film imports in China 2015-2021

The box office revenue of imported animated movies in China is generally dominated by productions from the United States and Japan. Between 2019 and 2021, U.S. and Japanese productions contributed between 98 and 99 percent of the overall imported animated movie box office revenue. In earlier years except 2016, such domination was usually not as strong, varied between 88 percent in 2015 and 94 percent in 2018.
