Eight sites located on Ft. Bliss, including one open-air campsite and seven sites located in interdunal areas interspersed with blowouts are the subject of this study. All sites are located in Doña County, New Mexico and include LA 30023, LA 91050, LA 91057, LA 91067, LA 91136, LA 91143, LA 91153, and LA 92546. Samples from these sites were examined for pollen and organic residues, the latter using FTIR. Pollen analyses will be used to provide subsistence information concerning plant resources utilized by the various occupants of this site. Organic and protein residue analysis will be used to investigate possible plant and animal resources
utilized by the site occupants.
