Soil prokaryotic and fungal communities in mid-term cover crop and residue management trial

Characterization of soil bacterial and archaeal communities (16S rRNA Illumina sequencing) and fungal communities (ITS Illumina sequencing) in agricultural soils under contrasting cover crop and residue management treatments. The trial consists in a 8-year diverse crop rotation from southern Ontario, Canada. The study compares cover crops with different plants species (oat, rye, radish and a rye-radish mixture) and two residue management treatments (removed and retained).
