NRS-16326 | Admission register [Wyan Provisional School]

The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school and their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission. These volumes contain the following information pertaining to each student - date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; the name of previous school and date of leaving. Details pertaining to the parents or guardians including name; residence, and occupation. Later registers record only the mother's, father's or guardian's names. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into or another school attended on leaving school are also shown.The volumes for 1904-1969 and 1968-1984 are the main registers. The volume for 1965-1966 only contains seven entries. There is some overlap between the 1904-1969 and the 1965-1966 volumes, and details for some students are recorded in both books.
