Pseudomonas putida experimental evolution under silver or nanosilver stress

The Pseudomonas putida KT2440 ancestral strain (sample id 2788) was evolved for 70 days (daily transfer, ~465 generations) in Davis Minimal Medium with Citrate (1 g/L) in five parallel cultures. The parallel culture 2 had the highest fitness and was sequenced (sample id 2789).This pre-evolved culture was the inoculum of all main evolution experiment cultures.The pre-evolved strain further evolved for 75 days (daily transfer, ~500 generations) in Davis Minimal Medium with Citrate (1 g/L) under three different conditions in 5 parallel cultures each:1. Davis Minimal Medium with Citrate (DMM, control).2. DMM plus silver (5 µg/L AgNO3).3.
