Gene expression changes in the retina following human neural progenitor cell injection into a rodent model for retinal degeneration

The goal of this study is to compare gene expression changes in retinal degenerate Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) rats following an injection of human neural progenitor cells (hNPCs) using RNA-seq, as compared to RCS rats receiving a sham surgery and wild-type Long Evans rats. These changes may lead to understanding of the therapeutic potential of hNPCs in inducing photoreceptor survival and visual function preservation.本研究旨在通过RNA-seq技术，对比注射人神经前体细胞（hNPCs）后的视网膜变性皇家外科医学院（RCS）大鼠的基因表达变化，并以接受假手术的RCS大鼠与野生型Long Evans大鼠作为对照。上述基因表达差异或可助力阐明hNPCs在诱导光感受器细胞存活、维持视觉功能方面的治疗潜力。
