Ithaca Tree Swallow nesting records

These are data on the nest records of all Tree Swallow breeding attempts collected as part of David Winkler's studies of this species in and around Ithaca, New York, from 1986 to 2011. These studies, funded by grants from the Whitehall Foundation, the Environmental Protection Agency, National Science Foundation and US Department of Agriculture, have involved the dissertation research of PhD candidates from Cornell (J.P. McCarty, M.F. Wasson, D.R. Ardia, V. Ferretti, P. Llambías, D. Cerasale, A.M. Forsman, A. Belmaker), Iowa State University (M. Haussmann, M.G. Palacios) and University of Montana (S. Patterson) as well as undergraduate and high school learning opportunities for a great number of students. The data comprises the entire nesting chronology of each Tree Swallow nesting attempt, including entires on the number of eggs laid, the number that hatched, and the number of chicks that fledged as well as dates of the first egg, first hatch and fledging.
