Analysis of agroforestry practice among smallholder farmers in Rwanda using panel

These datasets have been used in the analysis of three separate but interlinked journal papers, which together constitute the thesis titled "Evaluating agroforestry practice in Rwanda: exposure, adoption, and impacts among smallholder farmers." The first paper used a quasi-experimental approach, the augmented inverse probability weighting (AIPW), to analyze adoption and intensity of tree planting practice among smallholder farmers. The second paper investigated the impact of harvesting on-farm fuelwood on time spent collecting fuelwood, using panel data methods, while controlling for possible endogeneity using a control function approach. The third paper examined the determinants of severe food insecurity among smallholder farmers. The paper assessed changes in food security status over time and specifically analyzed the effects of agroforestry practice, individual and household demographics, socio-economic status, and farming characteristics in shaping food insecurity outcomes.
