SCoT du Pays de Brest : Armature urbaine

The Pays de Brest benefits from a polycentric spatial organisation. This organisation makes it possible to offer at the level of intercommunalities an efficient mesh of equipment and services, a greater diversity of the habitat (collective, social...) and access to the public transport system of the territory (access to employment in Brest, to higher education...). The Pays de Brest is thus composed of five levels of urban mesh size: • Brest metropolis; • the urban hub of Landerneau; • the structuring poles: Crozon, Lesneven/Le Folgoët, Plabennec and Saint-Renan; • relay poles: Daoulas, Lannilis, Le Faou, Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerc’h, Ploudalmézeau, Plouguerneau; • other municipalities, among which inter-municipal urban planning documents can identify local hubs. The Guidance and Objectives Document (DOO) builds on this framework to define urban development guidelines.
